Should you be concerned with corporate wellness? Yes, if you want to increase the productivity of your employees. Yes, if you want to reduce health costs which actually eat into company profits and impact bottom-lines. Yes, because a healthy employee is a happier employee who will do better at his job. Yes, because a
wellness program signifies the company’s commitment to the health of the staff.
It is difficult to ignore the implications of ill-health whether chronic or intermittent, because it costs the business, and ultimately the nation, in terms of sick days, sick leaves and medical costs. Under a corporate wellness initiative, the company can take a proactive stance, by introducing health check-ups, disease prevention, nutritional education and healthy living strategies. At the same time the company should offer moral and psychological support to ailing employees or those who are suffering from chronic or serious illnesses.
As part of the corporate wellness program, you could introduce the employees to healthy eating habits (by starting with your own cafeteria/lunch program – if you have one) or having a gym in the premises, thus emphasizing the importance of exercising and diet. Or you can offer gym memberships at discounted rates by tying up with a gym. These programs should ideally encompass diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol control as well as weight loss, cardiovascular health and more. Employees should be encouraged to keep a balance chart; therefore tracking their progress, showing a record of of improved employee health, and setting an example for others.
Employees spend a large part of the day at work; so it is vital that the workplace offers them some benefits in terms of health. This helps boost morale and additionally increases employee retention. With a market which is saturated with people seeking jobs in fitness it is crucial, if searching for a fitness or wellness coach, that you find a qualified and experienced fitness professional. Investing in a fitness expert is similar to investing in secure stock; if there is a guarantee of reliability, the dividends will pay off in the end.
A healthy and fit employee exemplifies a healthy and fit company. A corporate wellness program in the company saves money and health.
Little is exposed about the rising cost of U.S. healthcare which has doubled in the last ten years and equates to the business owner’s third largest overall business expenditure. The average CEO of a business in the United States is juggling more now than ever before.
Keeping Employees HealthyWith the steadily increasing rate of obesity, paralleled with the rising cost of healthcare, the business owner is in a good position to help the economy, both directly and indirectly. Within the average employee benefits, healthcare represents approximately 8% of the total benefit package provided by an employer. Keeping an employee healthy can be simple with the outcome having enormous benefits. Encouraging employees to be healthy or to become healthier through proper nutrition and a steady ‘diet’ of exercise will promote life saving changes.Using a ProfessionalFocusing on the general overall health of employees, a business can make an impact on their bottom line. Just as a business uses professional attorney’s, tax accountants and marketing firms, so should the application of finding and using a properly educated and devoted fitness coach. The more physically fit the employee, the happier the employee, the more productive the employee and this relates directly to a companies bottom line profits.
TeamworkBy utilizing a devoted fitness professional, employees can experience the positive energy related to becoming more fit, both physically and mentally. One’s energy rises, the overall appearance improves and with it the self-esteem of the employee. Companies can reduce their overall expenditure on health costs and apply these funds to improving their company in other ways. All Fitness Professional are Not EqualWith the industry filled with fitness professionals, it is important for employees and employers to use due diligence when finding the proper coach for their needs. Not all people who seek jobs in fitness are alike, and not all are the perfect fit. It takes a good match between the employees and the fitness professional to achieve the desired maximum results. The best ones are as dedicated to their profession of health and fitness as the company is to its own industry. Keep looking for the right fitness professional match and watch the bottom line increase. It will be worth the trouble to fish around.
Passion of The Small Business Owner
The passion of owning a small business is at times compounded with employee benefits, of what and how much can be given. Obamacare and the political debate over the future of health care has literally landed in the hands of these passionate business owners. The making of a corporate athlete could be the answer to the federal issue.
Corporate Incentives
With the majority of the healthcare costs being the responsibility of the business owner, roughly 73%, the executive officers are working feverishly to come to terms with the rising costs. The small business owner’s passion for their employees and their well-being has revitalized the compassion thought process of owning a small business.
Positive Corporate Steps
Work with insurance brokers to reduce the money they make by using a fee-for-service plus a bonus for reducing the overall plans cost approach. This strategy is a win for both sides.
Provide fitness and wellness incentives to company managers for reduced claims costs. This will help both the company regarding insurance costs, but will also help solidify and cement a positive company direction.
Employee Rewards
Reward employees who maintain or improve their mental and physical health through the process of adapting the making of a corporate athlete. By taking the positive approach to all areas of their health, employees become more valuable to themselves and ultimately their own company. The reward may come in the form of a lower premium for those employees who work with a fitness coach to make lifestyle changes.
A corporate athlete will be an incentive for other employees to pursue their own personal development by showing how a positive lifestyle in all areas can improve the individual and the company’s bottom line.
MAGIC is ATL (A Transformed Life) + Purpose =
MAGIC. And
MAGIC as we define it in the YDBG is "producing extraordinary results."
MAGIC occurs when we grow, inspire others by who we choose to be, or are inspired by others by who they choose to be and become through our influence, lifestyles, habits, transformations, revelations, inspirations, etc. The more we increase our consciousness, improve our health and fitness, and align with universal principles, the more we experience
MAGIC effortlessly! It's quite an amazing game!!!!
This is just some of last weeks MAGIC! They'll be plenty more to come!
- JP's MAGIC was that he feels that through the YDBG, he has regained balance in his life and feels that the YDBG is becoming more of a lifestyle for him.
- Craig's MAGIC was that his daughters are doing their own weekly 7 Habits meetings based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. Craig was also excited to share that his wife is becoming more enrolled in the YDBG lifestyle as well.

And, last week, he scored a Beginner 100 which included holding a 6:15 bridge hold!!! That is absolutely amazing!!! Bobby also shared some very powerful words with us. MAGIC each and every week. Create it! Observe it! Share it!
Lifestyle BudgetThe average employee, or corporate athlete, can think of balancing their overall lifestyle in measures of a balance chart or a "lifestyle budget". By virtue of the creation and use of a form of charting - through outlining their strengths and those areas not as strong, and through the advice and guidance of a corporate lifestyle coach - the lifestyle budget can be spot on and successful.
Employee SaviorWith the ever increasing
health care costs, both to the employer as well as the small business, the solution to the U.S. health costs can be responsibly placed in the hands of the employee. Using a positive approach and a balance chart to monitor their success, the high cost of health care can be dramatically reduced. The end result will also be a healthy and more productive employee.
Modifiable ThoughtsWith most employers absorbing the cost of risking health care, the relationship with their small business employees has now become most important. A small business owner, by obtaining the services of a lifestyle coach to work with their employees, can make a substantial difference in health costs. A lifestyle coach can provide early intervention and can restart the many paths to success.
Many Forms of SuccessWith the help of a balance chart, all areas of the small business employee's health and fitness will be on the road to a better lifestyle. Keeping the employee's weight in check through positive mental training, a daily stretching and relaxation regime and through monitoring on a “lifestyle budget” balance chart, employees can achieve total
body balance.
A New BreedBy aligning the small business owner, the employee and the lifestyle coach through an inviting training protocol, the change in mental and physical fitness levels of the average worker will drastically increase. This positive increase will create a collective bargaining power for the small business owner in negotiating with insurance companies to provide lower premiums for healthy employees. The employees' benefit is seen through a longer average life expectancy and a positive mental lifestyle. Both the employer and employee have become a new breed in the health care process.
In The YDBG we define Power as the ability to influence life, self, and others. In this game, there are two types of Power:
- Internal Power i.e. relationships to life, self, and others, health and fitness of your Body Vehicle (5 wheels - mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and social), etc.
- External Power i.e. money, status, vehicles, etc.
In The YDBG, anytime we refer to health, generally speaking, we are really referring to the Body Vehicle because health is not just limited to the physical body. Your physical health is simply a manifestation of the health of the other four wheels. Day encourages us to ask ourselves "How healthy and fit am I mentally? How healthy and fit am I socially? Spiritually? Physically? Emotionally?" And remember, health and fitness are two distinctive entities yet they overlap at energy as it takes energy to be healthy and it takes energy to be fit. Health is your consciousness, how you relate to life and your habits around each wheel and fitness is your ability to exercise those habits that empower growth in each wheel.
The key is to align the wheels of your Body Vehicle for balance and to keep them aligned you want to make sure you are doing these three things:
1. Minimize leakages in areas that you may be giving your power away or making dis-empowering choices in.
2. Maximize storage in areas that you are making powerful choices in.
3. Optimize usage in areas that you may be less effective in utilizing by choosing healthier habits to increase your conduit and play for greatness.
Where ever you may be losing power, put a tourniquet on it then add healthier habits to increase your power in that area(s).
So often, we measure success by the "things" we accumulate externally rather than our level of mastery over self. That is easy to do in the society we live in where if we want something now, we can usually get it now. Many people want things upfront and are willing to pay the debt of those things later like credit cards or maybe certain unhealthy food choices, etc. It is much easier to attain external power than it is internal power. Things like credit cards, the lottery, and living wills make external power an easier and quicker possibility however internal power cannot be bought, won overnight, or signed over. Internal power must be practiced, cultivated and nurtured over time.
And, as we discussed in our weekly 7 Habits conversation -
Strength + Flow = POWER and Strength + Resistance = FORCE
The healthier your habits, the healthier you are. The healthier you are, the more you increase and impact your power capacity, therefore your effectiveness, your environment, and your life. There is no quick fix to harnessing your personal power but the most effective way to gaining it is through your health and fitness. So, play on, choose powerfully and stay tuned for more………
Professionals who are running a personal trainer business need to be aware of our unique B.A.L.A.N.C.E. system, which provides clients with the tools they need to get healthy and achieve optimum fitness. By using the innovative game that we've designed, clients will learn about essential fitness skills such as proper hydration,
healthy eating habits, and

more. Through the engaging approaches of the game, you will assist clients in C.H.A.R.A.C.T.E.R. transformation; as they evolve from learning the game to living it.
As trainers guide clients toward their goal of complete
body balance, clients will learn about breathing during exercise, the importance of stretching, how to work cardio and strength training into their routine, and what dietary changes they may want to consider as they work toward their weight loss goals. Playing the game while getting healthy is far more enjoyable for clients than simply trudging away at the treadmill day after day, so they're usually fairly quick to jump on board.
If you're running a personal trainer business, chances are you already know how difficult it can be to educate the average person about
healthy habits. It's even more difficult to get them to put these habits into action! Our game helps trainers teach clients the skills they need, involve them through the game approach, and work together to achieve optimal fitness. If you feel as if you're talking to a brick wall while attempting to educate others about their health and wellness, this may be just the solution you need to help clients reach their goals and
achieve self mastery.
Choosing a great
personal trainer is a lot like choosing a close friend. You want to find someone you like, feel like you can trust and someone who will not waver in holding you to your best. In a nutshell, you want a trainer

whose knowledge and strength of character is top notch.
Certifications show that a personal trainer has achieved an advanced level of knowledge in the field of fitness training. However, there are no National training certifications that reveal the level in which a
fitness coach can apply this knowledge effectively on their clients. This can only be measured by the testimonies and the results from their clients. In addition to this, I have not seen one National Training Certification that holds the personal fitness trainer personally to a high level of health and fitness. This is the truest indicator of how well a trainer is going to be able to transfer a state of consciousness to their clients so that they continue a healthier lifestyle when they are not with a trainer.
Well, no need to look any further. The YourDay GameDay Certification is an adjunct certification, for all trainers, healthcare professionals, and civil servants, that will do the following:
Measure the personal habits of the trainers every 90 days. Keep you in shape.
- Assure that trainers are aligning clients with an overall balance.
- Assure that trainers are paid for their services
- Give the clients a bigger purpose for which to play, by being part of a bigger game.
- Retain clients longer by increasing their passion for health and fitness.
To sum it up, it will make you healthier and wealthier! This adjunct program allows you to get paid while achieving a higher level of certification, as well as building your credentials. In the long

run, you will achieve a higher
personal training salary.
And this is just a few of the benefits. We have been in the lab for 11 years creating and evolving this game so that these results are as consistent as purchasing a successful fast food franchise. However, we have not made it available to the public, due to timing. We are in the process of certifying 30 Beginner GameDay officiators and you do not want to miss it. This first class of graduates will be legendary.
Act now by leaving your contact information so that we can qualify you over the next 90days as well as give you a little more insight on how the Game is played. We are projecting the first class to be held in Atlanta, GA in May of 2012.
We look forward to playing by your side.

It's often said about careers that you get out of them what you put in. This includes people who work as personal trainers, an often demanding job with a fluctuating salary. You can increase your personal training salary by

following two very simple tips — add certifications and increase your referrals.
Certification
Personal trainers with the right certifications benefit from higher salaries because there are more places to work. Health clubs, spas and other fitness related venues want to employ competent trainers for their clients. You can demonstrate your competency by adding certifications. Certifications authenticate your knowledge and that you have met specific standards of expertise through
fitness instructor courses. As a result, your clients will see increased health benefits, experience fewer injuries and have an overall better personal training experience because you, yourself, have a greater understanding of training.
There are several certifying bodies for personal trainers, each with a specific focus. Some certifications to consider include:
Boost Referrals
Another way you can increase your personal training salary is to increase the number of referrals you get. You want your current clients to refer you

to their friends, family and coworkers. There are several ways to do this.
Use social media to your advantage by starting a professional
Facebook or other social media page and inviting your current clients to "like" you. Then, be sure to post regular and useful content to your page that your clients can share and spread. This will drive more traffic to your page and ultimately, more clients your way.
Secondly, do your job the best you can each and every day. Hard work and work ethic pay big dividends. When your clients know you work your heart out for them, they are more likely to recommend you to someone else.
Life as a personal trainer can come with some income uncertainty. Boost your personal training salary by adding certifications and increasing the amount of referrals you receive.
Some words aren't easily interchangeable. Take nurse and doctor for example. Nurses possess specialized training which allows him or her to take care of specific needs related to your general health care. A doctor, however, brings specialized and targeted medical expertise to
the table, in order to diagnose, treat and monitor a wide gamut of health issues. A nurse is not able to take the place of a doctor.
This holds true for the personal improvement industry, too. Fitness jobs are not equal to wellness coaching. Let's take a look at the differences.
Fitness Jobs
People with jobs related to fitness most often fall under the heading of personal trainer or dietitian. A fitness coach tends to focus on one part of your personal well-being, your body. They work with you to lose weight, tone muscle, build up your cardio endurance or prepare for an event like a marathon or a race.
Dietitians can help you improve your diet to meet specific goals as well. Perhaps you need to lose weight or change your eating habits to address a medical need. Dietitians usually don't do the work of a personal trainer and vice versa. These fitness jobs certainly help a lot of people realize their fitness goals and they serve a special niche in the health industry, if you're looking to lose weight or improve your physical condition.
Wellness Coach
Wellness coaches do the work of a personal fitness trainer and a dietitian but take their work a step further. Your wellness coach recognizes that personal health requires a holistic approach to
health and fitness; acknowledging the entire person. You are not defined simply by what you eat or your physical fitness. You are a whole and complex person.
Wellness coaching helps you get your mind and body in balance. This often includes improving your physical fitness and your diet. It also includes working on improving your mental state, as well, in order to achieve full body balance. Meditation, stretching, positive thinking and achieving your personal goals play as much a role in your overall health as what you eat.
Dietitians and personal trainers certainly can help improve specific areas of your health just as nurses tend to certain aspects of your medical care. However, if you're looking to make a real and lasting change in your overall health, turn to a wellness coach.
Note, however, that there are a few personal trainers who have a holistic and balanced approach. These highly advanced trainers instill character fitness based on highly effective habits. Beyond wellness coaches, character fitness instructors have advanced techniques to train your body, your mind, your spirituality, and you're social being by using accountable, proven methods. Seek out a personal trainer, with expertise in character fitness, who will bring a combination of wellness coaching and fitness training; thus a true transformation specialist.
